Synopsis:

This community art project aims to invite and form inter-ethnic and inter-generational friendship for the purpose of making art together. Through it, questions of social inclusion/exclusion were explored through art and cultural participation. A dozen Hong Kong-born local Chinese and ethnic minority youth, along with half a dozen senior citizens living near an art space in Ngau Tau Kok, joined hands, amidst laughter, to use creative visual arts to connect to their family memories, migration, neighborhood changes, and even everyday discrimination. Initiated by Hong Kong Baptist University and 1a Space, and with funding from the Fung Hon Chu Foundation, the project invited Hong Kong artists (Ricky Yeung Sau Churk, Yu Shuk Pui Bobby, and Ip Wai Lung) to provide guided practice. The art works made were later presented in an exhibition curated by John Erni and Louis Ho.
